Beautiful Mani is located in the south part of Peloponnese and it is dominated by majestic sights with a long history and unique splendor.

Starting from our own home, the unbelievably attractive Kardamyli combines the seaside beauty with the mountainous majesty in a genuine Peloponnesian scenery. A traditional place that Homer first highlighted, it hosts countless tourists yearly. After a walk through the picturesque cobble streets of Kardamyli (650m), do not miss to visit the Old Town & Upper Kardamyli (1.4 km), a fortified settlement of well-preserved tower-houses, which are some of the finest examples of Maniot architecture. Another must-see in the area is the Patrick Leigh Fermor’s house (1.4 km), the well-known travel writer. You will be able to see one of the most beautiful houses, built in local architecture.

Existing so much in sync with the regional environment, they create a magnificent scenery to take back home. If you are willing to travel further away, Mani has so much more to offer. As Partick Leigh Fermor said: “Passing-by you observe Mani in 3 days, walking in 3 months and in order to see its soul you need 3 lives. One for the sea, one for the mountains and one for its people.”

One of the most notable places you should visit in Mani are the caves of Diros (46km), where the stalactites and stalagmites compose an incredibly eerie scenery.

Charming, colorful, and beautifully scenic, the area of Areopoli (37 km) has so many pictures to give you. Stroll around the traditional paths and get to know the idyllic beauty of Mani through this seductive place. Limeni (35 km), the small port of Areopoli, is an area of unique natural beauty, with turquoise waters and imposing stone towers built around the coast. What is mention worthy is that one of them is the old palace of the famous Mavromichalis family.

Promising a time-travel experience with its stone-built towers, the traditional settlement of Vatheia (69 km) in Mani lies on the top of a hill, offering astonishing views. On your way there you can also stop to Gerolimenas (61 km), a traditional picturesque fishing village.

Representing the southern edge of the Balkan peninsula, Cape Tenaro (75 km) is definitely a visit-worthy place. The most famous story about it was the rumor of being the gate to the Underworld.
